“Autumn Sunrise”
Protection Island, Nanaimo Harbour, British Columbia
16” x 24” | Oil on board
Protection Island - so named because it protects Nanaimo Harbour, is the location for many lovely homes and because we had very good friends who lived there, we visited often.
This view from Smugglers Beach on the East side looks out onto Northumberland Channel as 2 yachts depart travelling north on the early morning flood tide. A BC Ferry is inbound to Duke Point. The Island is also home to Canada’s only floating Pub! (excellent fish and chips)
